Keep it simple and easy..

If you have some easy meal ideas for kids to learn, your goal of teaching your kids how to cook for the family is a breeze. Start with asking kids what they like best for dinner, and see how you can modify it to their abilities. Meals that kids can cook easily should involve short cuts, if possible, like using frozen veggies instead of fresh.

Stock up on these "must have's" for easy preparation:

  • canned beans
  • frozen veggie mixes
  • shredded cheese
  • jar tomato sauce
  • bags of pasta
  • canned chicken/turkey
  • frozen cooked chicken strips
  • taco shells and tortillas

You might also consider some one pot meals, like crock pot stews or casseroles for easy clean up and minimal dishes. There are certain kitchen gadgets that make it easy for kids to cook.

stir fry with tofu or canned/frozen chicken

quesadillas with cheese and leftovers!

lentils and rice stew
