Organized Mom-Zine

February 2012

Welcome to the February issue of the Organized Mom-Zine bringing you tips and support to help you get your family organized. I know you're super busy, so I'll keep it short and sweet with three main nuggets for you use in your home!

If you like this e-zine, please do a friend (and me!) a big favor and “pay if forward!” If a friend did forward this to you and you like what you read, please subscribe today!

Happy February! Love and friendship are on the minds of many this time of year. For Valentine's Day, my hubs and I have a ritual that has more impact than flowers or a box of chocolates.

We write down "hot button" topics and put them in a bowl. We open a bottle of wine and we TALK. We talk for several hours about the hard topics that go undiscussed.

(your "hot button topics are probably the same as ours). Having a format to discuss these issues has been key to a healthy and happy marriage. Try it this year!

Okay, let's switch gears and talk turkey. Money, that is.

Do you have an allowance system for your kids? What is fair? Do you pay for chores or not? Now is a great time to tackle these issues. Include your kids in the discussion! Chances are they have some opinions on the subject.

If you implement an allowance system, it's much easier to get kids on board with chores. You can determine how chores like laundry, cleaning and cooking tie together with allowance, but money is a tremendous incentive for kids, so use it.

For my last item I want to give you a cleaning guide. Have you started teaching your kids how to clean some rooms in the house?

That's okay! Here's how you can get started. I wrote for you a step-by-step guide to teach your kids to clean the bathroom in five easy steps. Wouldn't you LOVE to delegate that job? You can!

It may not seem like it, but the bathroom is actually the easiest room in the house to teach your kids to clean.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Okay, folks, thanks for reading, and please write us with any feedback, suggestions or content requests! Just reply to this e-zine and tell me what you think...
